Drivers in Atlanta know the areas that are likely to flood. "Every time we have rain, we know there is water," a driver said. That problem was compounded by the fact so many leaves right now are on the ground and clogging drains. All of this was happening at Miami Circle in Buckhead. Crews came out searching through the murky water for a man hole to open up and release the water. "Our crews are back out again today cleaning drains and making sure the tops of those grates are cleared off," Georgia Department of Transportation spokesperson Natalie Dale said. Dale said the drain cleaning they did the day before did help some. But we still found areas overnight that flooded, like here on Langford Parkway where all westbound lanes were flooded. Dale says they will continue to do what they can to keep the roads clear. "In situations like this where we have back-to-back storms and we have all that foliage coming down, we'll get extra crews out today to clear grates, clear down in the grates to make sure we are prepared for that water to flow this afternoon," Dale said. Drivers will just have to manage the best they can. "It was hectic," another driver said.
